We’re excited to announce the launch of our brand new series of exercise films to promote bone strength, which include guidance on increasing exercise intensity.

Produced by ROS Clinical Advisor, Sarah Leyland, in partnership with professionals, the series features short films on the two types of exercise needed for bone strength – weight-bearing impact and muscle-strengthening.

This new series explains the importance of combining moderate impact exercise with progressive muscle-resistance training, providing a three-stage plan about ways to exercise effectively and to build up safely.

The films are aimed at anyone wanting to work on exercise to promote bone strength and especially those who are able to add in some intensity into their exercise routine. These higher levels of exercise won’t be suitable for everyone, for example, it may not be possible to build up exercise intensity in this way from our late 70s and beyond. But, doing any form of exercise at whatever level is always important to reduce loss of muscle and bone strength, so don’t be disheartened if some of these exercises aren’t suitable for you.

The following films focus on weight-bearing impact exercise, which cover topics such as which exercises to discuss with an exercise trainer.

To make sure you’re combining these with muscle-resistance training.
