About strontium ranelate

Strontium ranelate (brand name Aristo®) was a medicine for osteoporosis. It is no longer available.

In 2025, the manufacturer announced they could not get an ingredient to make the medicine. As a result, strontium ranelate stocks have completely run out and the production of the medicine has stopped. The manufacturer has no plans to make the medicine again.

There are lots of other osteoporosis medicines that work well. If you were taking strontium ranelate, talk to your doctor. They can recommend a different osteoporosis medicine for you.
