OUR PRESIDENT

Her Majesty The Queen has been President of the Royal Osteoporosis Society since 2001, championing better bone health and raising awareness of osteoporosis across the UK.

Her Majesty's Commitment to Bone Health

Her Majesty The Queen (formerly HRH The Duchess of Cornwall) is President of the Royal Osteoporosis Society (ROS).

In recognition of her tireless work for osteoporosis and her support of the charity, Her Majesty The Queen (formerly HRH The Duchess of Cornwall) became President of the Royal Osteoporosis Society in October 2001. Her Majesty first became a supporter of the charity in 1994, when her mother died as a result of osteoporosis, and she later become a patron in 1997.

During her time as President, Her Majesty has taken an active and very personal interest in raising awareness of our work. Over the years, she has held receptions, attended events, met people living with the condition, and made many impassioned speeches.

In 2007, Her Majesty received the Kohn Foundation Award from Dr Ralph Kohn (later Sir Ralph Kohn) in recognition of her contribution to raising awareness of osteoporosis.

In 2023, Her Majesty The Queen officially opened our new city centre offices in Bath. Bath has a proud medical history, with the thermal spa having been influential in the development of rheumatology as a distinct clinical specialty.
